Out of Whole Cloth: Marking History & Making Home, 1865 - 1910

The Wallace Center for Arts and Reconciliation is proud to invite you to visit our newest exhibit, "Out of Whole Cloth: Marking History & Making Home, 1865-1910."

Emancipation was a beginning and an end. After 1865, millions of formerly enslaved people were left with their freedom and few other resources. This exhibit tells the story of three groups of newly emancipated people and their struggles to make a place for themselves on the Wallace Plantation in Harpersville, Alabama.

Groups of up to 20 are welcome for private tours by appointment by completing the form below. Donations are appreciated but not required.
