Available Now! The Other Revival: Poems & Reckoning by Salaam Green

The Wallace Center is beyond excited to talk about Salaam Green’s, new book The Other Revival. We owe so much to Salaam and all the work she does for us here at the Wallace Center. The Other Revival is a powerful collection of poems that was born from her work of connecting with descendants of enslaved individuals, and descendants of enslavers as well. This book dives into themes of healing, restoration and growth, bringing up questions and thoughts of ‘revival’ as a sense of renewal.

The section in the book that covers the Wallace House is particularly powerful, especially the poem Can I Go In?-- which calls into question who has the right to walk into Wallace House, who has the power to do so, even so many years removed.
This collection is what we all need right now, a series of poems that invites us to rethink and reconcile thoughts about race and power within ourselves and our communities as a whole. The Other Revival is aptly timed, coming out right in time for Juneteenth. Supporting Salaam and order your own copy today at one of the retailers below.
