Wallace Center Partnership in Shelby Living Magazine
The September/October issue of Shelby Living Magazine shines a spotlight on the upcoming quilt exhibition at the Shelby County Arts Council. The feature celebrates the Sew Their Names Project, the Wallace Center, and the Mt. Willing quilters, lifting up the powerful ways quilting connects history, memory, and community. It offers readers a behind-the-scenes look at the stitching of names of enslaved people onto fabric as an act of honor and remembrance. Be sure to pick up a copy to read the full story and get inspired to see the exhibition in person this fall!
Many thanks to the Alabama Sate Council on the Arts for Supporting this work.
